PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for calculating precisely an amount of pipe laid in a plant or the like, in a short time, and a means for using the same. SOLUTION: One embodiment of the present invention includes a system shown hereinafter. The system for calculating the amount of pipes laid in the plant installed with a piping rack is provided with a first means for calculating a pipe length from a start point of the pipe up to the piping rack near to the start point out of the piping rack, a second means for calculating a pipe length from an end point of the pipe up to the piping rack near to the end point out of the piping rack, and a third means for calculating a pipe length from the piping rack near to the start point up to the piping rack near to the end point, by searching a route on the piping rack for the pipe.
