<p>The method involves allowing entry for a traffic matrix for a traffic setting, with a traffic load for a traffic assembly. The traffic setting denotes either a normal case, an overload or inclined load case of the data traffic. A traffic offer for a link (l) is determined as function of the network setting, while the traffic offer is formed with one of the entries weighted sum of parts of all traffic assemblies between two nodes (v,w). A required capacity is computed by means of determined traffic offered, preferably a dimensioning offer of the entire network or of a link. A required capacity is also computed by means of a distribution of the data rate in the network or in the link and by considering quality of service-target-violation probability in the network or in the link, which is permitted for quality of services of the data traffic. An independent claim is also included for a device for execution of the method, where the device is implemented by a control server of the net, by a part of the management system of the net, by a service control device, by a router or by entry controlling units at nodes.</p> |
