<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for removing dust effectively, by restricting re-attachment of the dust to an imaging element. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes a driving means for performing oscillation drive of an imaging element, a posture detecting means for detecting the posture of the imaging apparatus, and a control means for oscillating the imaging element on condition that the posture of the imaging apparatus detected by the posture detecting means is predetermined one and removing dust attached to the imaging element. As an example, the imaging element is oscillated on condition that the posture of the imaging apparatus is a right one, or the imaging element is oscillated on condition that it is judged that a lens mounting opening on the main body side turns downward and an imaging lens is not mounted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
