The system has two subsystems (3, 5) with monitoring optical paths and imaging layers (8, 9). The imaging layer (9) of the subsystem (5) is formed such that a high optical resolution of an object (2) to be viewed is provided. The optical resolution is higher than an optical resolution of the imaging layer (8) of the subsystem (3). A numerical aperture of the layer (8) is greater than an aperture of the layer (9). An independent claim is also included for a method for viewing an object.
