MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic tape having excellent electromagnetic transducing characteristics and running durability. SOLUTION: A polyethylene naphthalate film 11 is formed in a roll shape and preserved at 110°C for a week to be thermally relaxed. An enthalpy relaxation amountΔH of the film 11 is 1.8 J/g. The roll-shaped film 11 is drawn out and a back coat layer 33 is formed on the rear surface thereof. A non-magnetic layer paint liquid and a magnetic layer paint liquid are simultaneously applied on the film 11 to form a non-magnetic layer 31 and a magnetic layer 32. After that, the film is subjected to magnetic orientation and dried. Calender treatment is performed and the magnetic tape 19 is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
