A refrigerating tunnel for green fodder or leaf vegetables comprises a housing 1, two endless belt conveyers 2a, 2b of grid-like form, the material to be refrigerated being conveyed through the housing between adjacent runs of the belts, and a plurality of refrigerating elements 3 which are arranged above and below the material path and have fans 4 for forcing air into contact with the material. The fan motors 5 and the return runs of the belts are imposed outside the housing. Pivotable air deflecting plates 6, which may be oscillated by cams on the belts so that the material is agitated, are provided and the material is pressed by adjustable rollers 7, which may be refrigerated, arranged at the discharge end of the housing. |
