PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the seizure resistance, wear resistance and galling resistance in the sliding part of each component in an epicyclic gear. SOLUTION: Each sliding part of a pinion shaft 10, a needle roller and a pinion gear in the epicyclic gear has a quench-hardened surface layer 11 in the surface of a base metal 10a, and the surface roughness Ra of each surface layer 11 is 1 to 100 nm. Further, the surface layer 11 has a hard film 12 formed of a DLC (diamond like carbon) film. The plastic deformation hardness of the hard film 12 is 15 to 30 GPa, and the Young's modulus (equivalent elastic coefficient) of the hard film 12 is 100 to 250 GPa. Further, the film thickness of the hard film 12 is 0.1 to 5μm, and is preferably 0.5 to 3μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
