<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To classify and store digital image files simply and intuitively by classification criteria according to individual users' conditions when classifying and collectively managing many digital image files on a storage medium in a recording device provided with a disk drive of a hard disk or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Classification marking areas G are disposed between thumbnail images SM adjacent in an arrangement order. For example, when the classification marking area G between a thumbnail image SM of an image B and a thumbnail image SM of an image C is marked, a digital image file group corresponding to images A to O is classified into two groups, namely, a group of images A and B and a group of images C to O.
