PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection device capable of securing linearity in an output characteristic between a rotation angle of an operation means and an output voltage. SOLUTION: This detector is equipped with a pair of magnetic bodies 4a, 4b having each opposite surface P1; a pair of magnets 5a, 5b interposed between each opposite surface P1, and polarized in mutually different magnetic field directions; a rotating member 3 for rotating the pair of magnetic bodies 4a, 4b and the pair of magnets 5a, 5b corresponding to the control input of an operation grip 2; and a magnetic detector 6 disposed inside a closed magnetic circuit M formed by the pair of magnetic bodies 4a, 4b and the pair of magnets 5a, 5b, for detecting a change of a leakage magnetic field generated inside the closed magnetic circuit M following rotation of the rotating member 3. The pair of magnetic bodies 4a, 4b are formed respectively in an approximately flat shape, and each opposite surface P1 is in surface contact respectively with each polarized surface P2 of the pair of magnets 5a, 5b.
