PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of surely detecting information from an information embedded document. SOLUTION: A complex machine 1 comprises an image development means 2 for inputting a document image, a background tint block image generation means 10 for generating an information embedded tint block image, an image synthesis means 11 for combining the document image and background tint block image, a code detection possibility judgment means 12 for determining the possibility of detecting the embedded information based on the synthesized image in the above step 11, and a control means 9 for controlling the output of the synthesized image based on the result of judgment made through the code detection possibility judgment means 12. In this way, the embedded information can be surely detected from a printed document because synthesized image output is allowed only when an image synthesizing a document image and a background tint block image is created, information detection is performed on a synthesized image, and information is detected correctly.
