<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing processing loads on a printer when printing a content comprising a second file describing link information indicating a link to a first file and the first file by the printer and to enable the printer to perform printing of the first file even when the first file is held in an apparatus that the printer cannot access. <P>SOLUTION: In accordance with information on the printer 204 for printing the content which comprises a structured text file describing the link information indicating the link to an image file and the image file, the image file is converted (S405). Also, by changing the link information to link information indicating the link to the converted image file, the structured text file is updated (S406).
