PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide diaphragm packing for a water shutoff valve capable of dispensing with base cloth. SOLUTION: This diaphragm packing for the water shutoff valve is composed of a fixed part fixed to the valve body part side of a diaphragm type water shutoff valve, a folding-back-shaped flexible part formed on the inner peripheral side of this fixed part and a movable part formed on the inner peripheral side of this flexible part, and is integrally molded by synthetic rubber. The diaphragm packing relatively displaces the movable part in the axial direction to the fixed part by elastic deformation of the flexible part, and generates elastic reaction corresponding to a relative displacement position. The elastic reaction when the relative displacement position of the movable part is a minimum displacement position corresponding to a valve closing position of the diaphragm type water cut-off valve, is set in a size within a range of 0.45 N to 1.4 N. The elastic reaction generated when the relative displacement position is a relative displacement position except for the minimum displacement position, is set in the size within a ratio range of 0.43 time to 2.10 times of the elastic reaction generated in the minimum displacement position.
