PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear view mirror unit capable of expanding a range backward of sides of a vehicle to be checked by a driver, and easily ensuring the safety by driving the rear view mirror unit to the outer position outward of the vehicle by the predetermined angle. SOLUTION: The rear view mirror unit comprises a rear view mirror body for checking a range backward of sides of a vehicle, a driving means for driving the rear view mirror body from the normal position for checking the range backward of the sides of the vehicle to the outer position outward of the vehicle by the predetermined angle, a control means for controlling the driving means, and a switch for operating the control means.
