A wet and dry vacuum cleaner is provided to remarkably improve the convenience for use by easily throwing away filth without lifting a heavy cover. A wet and dry vacuum cleaner includes a body, a cover, a filth separating and collecting unit, and an exhaust passage. A vacuum generating unit is located on the lower side of the body. The body has a suction port connected to a nozzle, and a discharge port for discharging air. The filth separating and collecting unit is detachably installed in the body to separate and collect dust, water, filth in the air introduced through the suction port. The cover is installed at an upper part of the body to seal an upper opening of the body. The exhaust passage connects the filth separating and collecting unit with the discharge port to exhaust the air purified in the filth separating and collecting unit into the outside through the discharge port.
