A valve face grinding method is provided to reduce grinding time and to improve surface roughness of a valve face by performing a soft cutting process immediately after a rough cutting process. A valve(1) is laid down on a support table on which a carbide tip is attached with a slope. A valve stem has a front end supported by a stopper(15). Rotating rollers(20,21) are moved toward the support table from a side surface of the valve such that the rotating rollers rotate the valve being tightly contacted with the rotating rollers. Grinding stones(30,31) are moved in a diagonal direction toward a valve head(2) which rotates by the rotating rollers, and a valve face(3) is formed at the valve head. |
