<p>A method and an apparatus for transmitting a dedicated pilot in using a low MCS(Modulation and Coding Scheme) level in a cellular communication system are provided to improve the performance of channel estimation by transmitting a dedicated pilot using part of allocated resources in the case of transmitting data at a low MCS level. A transmitter determines resource allocation and an MCS level, based on a user's channel information(810). The transmitter, based on the determined MCS level, judges whether it is required to transmit a dedicated pilot(820). If the transmission of the dedicated pilot is not required, the transmitter creates a common pilot channel signal, a data channel signal based on the MCS level, and a control channel signal(830). However, in case it is judged that the transmission of the dedicated pilot is required, the transmitter creates a common pilot channel signal, a data channel signal containing the dedicated pilot, and a control channel signal(840). Then the transmitter multiplexes the created signals, maps them to their respective resources, and transmits them(850).</p> |
