Over stroke buffer structure for a linear compressor is provided to buffer collision between adjacent components during over stroke, and to prevent damage of components by installing buffer protrusions between a motor cover and a supporter. Over stroke buffer structure for a linear compressor comprises a piston(52) and a cylinder(54), a linear motor(60), a motor cover(68), a supporter(72) and buffer parts(82,84). The piston and the cylinder compresses refrigerant. The linear motor reciprocates the piston. The motor cover fixes the linear motor. The supporter is connected to the piston, and buffered and supported by a spring with regard to the motor cover. The buffer part is installed between the motor cover and the supporter, and buffers collision of the motor cover and the supporter.
