An apparatus and a method for receiving broadcasting are provided to accurately equalize a channel by removing a symbol with low reliability based on channel state information extracted through a channel transfer function value of a broadcasting reception signal. A demodulating unit(200) demodulates a modulated broadcasting reception signal. A channel equalizing unit(100) differently applies a predetermined threshold to each channel symbol in the demodulated signal, and removes a sub-carrier wave having a channel transfer function power smaller than the predetermined threshold from each channel symbol. A decoding unit decodes the signals equalized at the channel equalizing unit.
