PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing slag, which apparatus is suitable for a tab plate for welding a UOE steel pipe. SOLUTION: The apparatus for removing slag comprises a closable container for receiving tab plates cut by gas-cutting, and a mechanism for rocking or turning the container, wherein it is preferable that the closable cylindrical container has partitions divided in the axial direction therein such that the partitions can receive a plurality of materials cut by gas-cutting so as to have an interval between them and have its cylindrical wall (an outer peripheral portion) partitioned so as to be opened and closed.
