PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a emergency light of an elevator capable of sufficiently securing a specified illuminance and improved in aesthetic appearance. SOLUTION: This emergency light 6 is installed in an illuminating device 2 disposed at the ceiling of the car 1 of the elevator. The emergency light has a support member 9 so rotatable that the light can selectively take the storage position that the light is stored in the illuminating device or the projecting position that the light is projected from the illuminating device. A solenoid 14 is installed at the end lower part of the support member. When the power supplied to the illuminating device is cut off, the shaft of the solenoid projects to move the support member from the storage position to the projecting position, and a control panel 18 feeds the power of a battery 17 to the emergency light to light up a light source 13.
