<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a natural matter-derived thyrosinase activity enhancer and a cosmetic containing the same, promoting the production of melanin as a pigment inherent in the skin by effectively enhancing thyrosinase activity rather than chemically browning the skin surface, being safe and hardly causing the produced melanin to fade away, and uniformly developing suntan color on the skin. <P>SOLUTION: The thyrosinase activity enhancer comprises cabbage's extract that is obtained by extraction of cabbage with a water-miscible solvent(preferably with water).
