PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple cleaning device capable of efficiently cleaning the passage wall surfaces of the side walls of an escalator and applicable also to those escalators the both passage wall surfaces of which are different from each other. SOLUTION: This device is used for cleaning the passage wall surfaces of the side walls of the escalator which extend vertically on both sides of the steps of the escalator. The device comprises a support rod 11 having a handle 11a, a pair of right and left extension rods 12 extendably fitted to both ends of the support rod 11, and mops 13 tiltably fitted to the ends of the extension rods 12.
