PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tera-hertz wave radiation device in which tera-hertz wave radiation efficiency is enhanced. SOLUTION: The tera-hertz wave radiation device 100 for radiating an electromagnetic wave in a tera-hertz frequency band comprises an anode electrode layer 121; a cathode electrode layer 111 that forms a pair with the anode electrode layer 121; an electrically insulating layer 112 that is disposed between the anode electrode layer 121 and cathode electrode layer 111, and has a vacuumized opening which is formed to pass through in the lamination direction; and a photoelectron emission layer 113 that is disposed between the electrically insulating layer 112 and cathode electrode 111, and in contact with the electrically insulating layer 112 to emit photoelectrons to the opening.
