<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new wakame seaweed peptide and L-tyrosyl-L-proline having angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory effect and hypotensive effect from a liquid obtained by degrading wakame seaweed with protease S Amano and proleather FG-1. <P>SOLUTION: The dipeptide obtained by carrying out degradation treatment of wakame seaweed with protease, etc. and having a new angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory effect is L-tyrosyl-L-proline.
