PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator door engaging device for more reliably opening a door independently of the position of an elevator car. SOLUTION: First and second vanes 2, 3 are mounted on the car door 1. The first and second vanes 2, 3 have first and second bases 5, 6, first and second extension materials 7, 8 mounted on the first and second bases 5, 6 so as to be movable forward/backward in the direction of approaching/leaving a hall door, and first and second extension material drive mechanisms 9, 10, respectively. The first and second extension material drive mechanisms 9, 10 drive the first and second extension materials 7, 8 in the direction of approaching/leaving the hall door in response to command signals.
