PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a process having no defects of the known processes and devices, providing a continuous heating effect during applying a cosmetic composition and being suited to a wide range cosmetic compositions. SOLUTION: This device includes: a cosmetic or dermatological composition held in a container or substrate; and an applicator 3 capable of being separated from the container or substrate and having an application surface 9, which is not rotary, to treat an area of skin, including at least one material having a thermal behavior such that when heated to a temperature which does not cause thermal damage to the skin when the application surface is in contact with the skin for 15 s, the application surface has, after this application, a temperature above or equal to 30°C.
