PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous epoxy resin composition exhibiting good dispersibility in water and film-forming properties, and providing a coated film having excellent anticorrosion property. SOLUTION: The aqueous epoxy resin composition contains (A) an epoxy resin and (B) an amine-based curing agent. The amine-based curing agent (B) is a compound obtained by reacting (b-1) a polyamine compound with (b-2) an epoxy group-containing resin obtained by reacting (x1) a compound having active hydrogen, with (x2) an epihalohydrin and (x3) a quaternary onium salt-containing epoxy compound.
