PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a liquid crystal display panel capable of preventing damage to a liquid crystal display panel by dummy glass which is not separated, and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel using the method. SOLUTION: The method for cutting a liquid crystal display panel comprises: a step for transferring a pair of joint mother substrates having a plurality of panel regions thereon to a scribing part; a step for forming first proposed cutting lines and second proposed cutting lines on the front and rear surfaces of the mother substrates by a scribing unit; a step for transferring the mother substrates with the first and second proposed cutting lines formed thereon to a breaking part; and a step for separating liquid crystal display panels formed in a plurality of panel regions from surrounding dummy glass while spraying steam on the surface of the mother substrates with the use of a steam generator of the transfer device after moving the transfer device composed of a body having a plurality of absorption openings thereon and a steam generator disposed on the edge of the body, on to the mother substrates.
