PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainwater storage tank design support device and a rainwater storage tank design support method, in which position setting of a U-shaped gutter, optimum arrangement of a retardation member considering the direction of an inclined member, position selection of a manhole, confirmation of structure of a rainwater storage tank, or confirmation of whether rainwater including sand, sludge or the like can smoothly run into the U-shaped gutter can be accurately and easily performed. SOLUTION: The rainwater storage tank design support device takes, an object of design support, a rainwater storage tank comprising main retardation units each constituted by laminating two or more kinds of retardation members including inclined members, the main retardation units being aligned, and the alignment being divided to a plurality of groups; sub-retardation units inserted each between the groups in line; and U-shaped gutters provided under the alignment of the sub-retardation units, a part of the main retardation units being substituted by a manhole unit.
