PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a thickness part H formed on the edge on the opening side of an object to be coated by using a solvent tank, specially, to reduce such failures that a solvent film formed on the edge on the opening side bursts and the splashes of the solvent scatter in many directions. SOLUTION: The photoreceptor manufacturing method includes a process of immersing the edge of the conductive base with a photoreceptor layer formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof in the solvent, a process of pulling up the conductive base from the solvent, and a process of reducing the internal pressure of the conductive base, after the conductive base is separated from the solvent level at the pull-up process.
