A surveillance system. There is a first surveillance device module in information communication with an area and having a first perspective of a portion of the area; and a display module in communication with the first surveillance device module and showing a graphical model of the area, wherein information regarding the area from the first surveillance device module is visually displayed in association with the graphical model, disposed in association with a representation of the portion, and substantially oriented according to the first perspective, wherein the graphical model includes a translucent model of a visual barrier through which may be seen information from the surveillance device module.
