PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector in which a color wheel capable of providing tint and brightness is used, and which is used, for example, when making presentation. SOLUTION: The projector is provided with a light source unit, a light source-side optical system, a display element; a projection-side optical system, a cooling fan, the color wheel, a lamp power source circuit, and a projector control means. The color wheel 221 is provided with a red filter 221R, a green filter 221G and a blue filter 221B.
