An edge-emitting element (2) in this case pumps the semiconductor apparatus (1) via lenses (3, 5, 6) and a mirror (7). The semiconductor apparatus (1) may have an external resonator having a mirror (31), a nonlinear medium (32) and a combined deflection and outputting element (33).
