PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive apparatus in which the relative height accuracy of the height of a pivot base face and a magnet hold face is kept high and gap accuracy between a VCM coil and a VCM magnet is consequently kept. SOLUTION: The drive apparatus D is provided with a chassis 11, a spindle motor 2 fixed to the chassis 11, a head 5 for recording and reproducing data in and from a recording disk medium, a swing arm 6 holding the head 5 at one end side and turning around a pivot bearing 7, the VCM coil 8 provided on the other end side of the swing arm, and the VCM magnet 9 arranged so that it faces the VCN coil 8. In the chassis 11, an interposing member 3 unitizing the pivot base face31 and the magnet hold face 32 is installed with a spindle motor reference face 11a on the chassis 11 as a reference.
