Disclosed is an ethylene polymer which has excellent mechanical strength and shows an excellent molding processability over a wide molding processing temperature range. The ethylene polymer has a repeat unit derived from ethylene or both of a repeat unit derived from ethylene and a repeat unit derived from an a-olefin having 3 to 8 carbon atoms and satisfies the following requirements (A) to (F): (A) the density [d (kg/m³)] is 910 to 970 inclusive; (B) the MFR (g/10 min.) value is 0.01 to 50 inclusive; (C) the number of terminal vinyl groups is 0.2 or less per 1,000 carbon atoms; (D) the melt strength measured at 160°C [MS₁₆₀ (mN)] and the MFR value satisfy the following relationship: MS₁₆₀ > 90 - 130 x log(MFR); (E) the melt strength measured at 190°C [MS₁₉₀ (mN)] and MS₁₆₀ satisfy the following relationship: MS₁₆₀/MS₁₉₀ <1.8; and (F) the activation energy for flow [E_a (kJ/mol)] and d satisfy the following relationship: 127 - 0.107d < E_a < 88-0.60d.
