The unit has a recess (4) for accommodation of a part of a blade e.g. hand peeler blade, where the blade is arranged in a peeler. The recess is arranged in an upper side or in a central area of the unit. The recess is formed over the width of a bearing surface (6) of the unit, where the recess has a width of 0.8 centimeter. The unit is made of plastic, metal or wood and has the width of 3 centimeter, length of 8 cm and the height of 0.5 cm, where side walls (12) of the unit have a retaining device e.g. grip. An independent claim is also included for a vegetable slicer arrangement with a vegetable slicer-bearing surface unit.
