<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a waste toner quantity calculating/correcting function, capable of more accurately detecting a quantity of waste toner accumulating in a waste toner BOX. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a waste toner quantity calculating means for calculating a quantity of discharged waste toner; a waste toner storage remaining quantity calculating means for calculating a remaining quantity of storage of waste toner in the waste toner BOX; a first waste toner detecting means for detecting the first accumulation point of waste toner accumulated in the waste toner BOX; a first informing means for informing a user of the detection of the first accumulation point; a first correcting means for correcting the calculated value of the quantity of waste toner; a second waste toner detecting means for detecting the second accumulation point of the waste toner accumulated in the waste toner BOX; a second informing means for informing a user of the detection of the second accumulation point; a second correcting means for correcting the calculated value of the quantity of waste toner; and an estimating means for estimating the first accumulating point based upon the first and second correcting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
