PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master body having a special pattern suitable for magnetic copy and capable of copying highly accurate servo information in magnetic copy and to provide a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The master body has a special servo pattern having magnetic stability, namely capable of preventing generation of magnetic collapse and noise and generation of uneven magnetic flux intensity after transfer to the magnetic recording medium. Concretely, when magnetization units are in contact with each other in a point, these are replaced with a prescribed pattern to prevent magnetic collapse so that these are not in contact with each other in a point, when magnetization units having the same patterns are continued, different patterns are inserted between the magnetization units having the same patterns to prevent generation of noise and, in a servo pattern constituted of facing slant lines, the slant lines have a fixed angle to a tangent of a track of the magnetic recording medium to keep uniform magnetic flux density of the servo pattern after transfer, thus stability and accuracy of reading can be secured.
