PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining mass surface density of hydrogen, hydrogen mass density found in a sample and magnitude and density of containing matter found in the sample from the ERCS spectrum obtained by ERCS method, and also to provide a method for correcting deformation of ERCS spectrum. SOLUTION: In the proton-proton elastic scattering coincidence counting method for analyzing the composition of sample by irradiating the sample with a high-energy proton beam, because the incident protons of the proton beam which is incident on the sample is elastically scattered inside the sample, the ERCS spectrum representing the sum energy to be obtained by measuring the scattered protons and recoiled protons. The energy unit, indicating the sum energy of the ERCS spectrum, is the unit conversion method of ERCS spectrum characterized by associating the sum energy with the unit of the mass surface density by Equation 1.
