PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger preventing the deterioration of heat radiation performance. SOLUTION: A gas cooler 1 is provided with a pair of header tanks 2, 3 and a plurality of heat exchange pipes 4 arranged between both header tanks 2 and 3. The first header tank 2 is provided with an inlet header 10A and an outlet header 10B arranged in parallel in the vertical direction. A refrigerant inlet 12 is provided at the upper end of the inlet header 10A of the first header tank 2, and a refrigerant outlet 15 is provided at the lower end of the outlet header 10B. One intermediate header 20 is provided in the second header tank 3. An upper half of the intermediate header 20 of the second header tank 3 is used as a flow-in part 20a in which a refrigerant flows from the inlet header 10A through the heat exchange pipes 4. A resistance giving means is provided at the lower part of the flow-in part 20a. The resistance giving means is composed of a non-swelling part 26 provided in a part of the outward swelling part 24 formed on the outer side plate 7 constituting the second header tank 3.
