PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic substance applicator which is capable of providing increased comfort and accuracy in application. SOLUTION: A device 1 for applying a cosmetic substance has a receptacle 2 containing the substance P and an applicator 3 which is suitable for being received in the receptacle or fixed thereon. The applicator comprises an adhesive surface which is suitable for fixing the applicator to the skin before the first use. The device has a diameter of a circle C which circumscribes the applicator and centers around an axis X and is larger than the maximum thickness e<SB>max</SB>of the applicator which is measured parallel to the axis X.
