An apparatus and a method for recovering call processing errors are provided to shorten the recovery time due to the restarting of a call control process by recovering an error generated in the middle of call processing in a wireless soft-switch system, storing information on the error, and restarting the call processing program if the number of error-generated threads is larger than the preset number of errors. A call control process(200) consists of call processing threads(202), a lock stack(208), and a core handler(204). Each of the call processing threads(202) receives a call processing execution command from the call control process(200), executes call processing, and transmits an error indication signal to the core handler(204) if an error occurs in the middle of call processing. The lock stack(208) establishes or releases a Mutex lock for the information that each of the call processing thread(202) is using. The core handler(204), if the error indication signal is received from a call processing thread, releases the Mutex lock of the information that the thread is using. If the number of error-generated threads is larger than the preset number of errors, the core handler(204) restarts the call processing program.
