PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition excellent in formability and mechanical strengths, and to provide a formed article, preferably a film, obtained from the thermoplastic resin composition. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic resin composition is characterized by comprising a thermoplastic resin [A] and an ethylenic polymer [B] characterized by simultaneously satisfying the following requirements (I) to (VI); wherein the weight ratio ([A]:[B]) of the thermoplastic resin [A] to the ethylenic polymer [B] is in the range of 99:1 to 1:99. (I) The polymer is a copolymer of ethylene and a 4-10Cα-olefin. (II) The melt flow rate (MFR) under a load of 2.16 kg at 190°C is 0.1 to 100 g/10 min. (III) The density (d) is 875 to 970 kg/m<SP>3</SP>. (IV) The melt tension [MT(g)] at 190°C, (V) the sum of the number of methyl branches and the number of ethyl branches, and (VI) the weight-average mol.wt.
