The vehicle has reinforced door sills running length wise to the body (10) of the vehicle. The door sills include three sections (21-23) of different rigidity across their length. The rigidity of the front and rear sections (21, 23) is lower than the rigidity of the center section (22). The center section (22) is formed adjacent to a transverse reinforcement (30) of the vehicle body, where the transverse reinforcement extends into a bottom region (11) of the vehicle body.
