A roll media filter apparatus is provided to accurately move and stop a filter by allowing a filter roll to constantly contact a lower locking roller so that the tension of the filter is maintained at a constant level. A roll media filter apparatus includes a tank, an inlet pipe(5), two upper rollers(6), one or more lower rollers(7), a net chain(8), a filter roll(10), and a shaft support unit(12). The tank has a lower portion with an outlet pipe. The inlet pipe has both ends fixed at the tank, and a guide disk(3) mounted on both ends in the tank, and a lower portion with a through hole. The upper rollers have both ends supported at the tank in parallel with the inlet pipe. The upper rollers are arranged at both sides of the guide disk. The lower rollers have both ends supported at the tank in parallel with the upper rollers. The lower rollers are arranged below the upper rollers. The net chain is wound onto the upper rollers and the lower rollers. The filter roll is wound with a filter(9) interposed between the guide disk and the net chain. The shaft support unit supports a roller shaft of the filter roll. A separating plate is arranged in the inlet pipe so as to divide the internal space of the inlet pipe, and a rotating shaft is arranged in the oil-free space of the inlet pipe. A floater is fixed on the rotating shaft, and a proximity sensor is mounted on the rotating shaft such that the proximity sensor is protruded from one end of the inlet pipe. A proximity sensor is fixed at the tank in a part of the rotating zone of the proximity sensor.
