The method and assembly are for the analysis of stone, concrete or brick object for detection of one or more weaknesses in the object and a drying stage of the object is involved. During or after the drying, a visual analysis is made of at least a part of the surfaces (2,3) of the object (1) in order to detect local color differences in the surfaces corresponding to one or more weaknesses (4,8). The equipment assembly used for the analysis comprises an analogue optical camera, a digital optical camera, a video camera or a thermo-optic picture taking device. A device is also used for comparison of two or more pictures taken in order to detect object surface color differences.
