A system for managing data flow and a method thereof are provided to make it easy to analyze and check influence among systems by systematically managing a life cycle of data moving under environment of one and more systems. A system for managing data flow comprises one and more systems(110,130,150,170) and a data flow management apparatus(190). The systems copies or processes internally stored data and transmits or receives the data among one another while a receipt side system stores information on a transmitting side system when receiving the data from the transmitting side system. The data flow management apparatus collects data moving information from one and more systems, generates a data dependency relation table for every data, and generates a corresponding data dependency relation map. The data flow management apparatus searches for parent data, providing the corresponding data, and child data, derived from the corresponding data, on the basis of one data by using the dependency relation table.
