PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing agent composition for a liquid crystal display element excellent in electrical properties and alignment properties. SOLUTION: The sealing agent composition for a liquid crystal display element comprises (A) a mixture containing a partially (meth)acrylate-modified epoxy compound obtained by reacting epoxy resin with (meth)acrylic acid, (B) a latent curing agent, (C) a photopolymerization initiator, (D) an adsorbent and (E) an inorganic filler. By adding a pulverized hydrophobed molecular sieve, a low molecular component contained in the sealing agent and a low molecular decomposition product of the photoinitiator generated in ultraviolet curing can be prevented from diffusing in a liquid crystal (contaminating the liquid crystal) in heat curing.
