A remote control device using a mobile phone to wirelessly control a short-range vehicle and a control method are provided to use a control signal which sets and includes users' IDs in intrinsic codes of each mobile phone, thereby preventing the mobile phones from being illegally copied. A mobile phone(100) comprises as follows. A particular key(103) is set for a control command or to convert the mobile phone into a vehicle remote control device(200). A keypad(102) is set for the control command, and inputs a password or an ID in case of security setup. A cable link connector is set for security setup of control devices(105,203) of the mobile phone and the device. The control device(105) stores a password, an ID, and an intrinsic code of the mobile phone to read information during operation of the device, and commands a control signal. Software is capable of controlling the device by being downloaded and installed through a wired Internet or a wireless Internet. Transceiving devices(106,107) directly transceive data with the control devices(105,203). A screen output device(109) and a voice output device(108) check a performed control state. A call waiting device(104) maintains the mobile phone in call ability state all the time even after the mobile phone is converted into the control device. A connector is capable of mounting the control device on the mobile phone.
