PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect only image data required by a reception side simply from image data that a plurality of devices have.

SOLUTION: A key object reception control unit 71 controls the reception of an object that is transmitted from the other party and is used for searching the image data. A searcher 56 searches the image data of attributes corresponding to the object from the image data recorded in a recorder 32, based on the received object and a prerecorded list in which information indicating the attributes of the image data is arranged. A data transmission control unit 82 controls the transmission to the other party of the image data according to the searched result which can be applied to, for example, a system in which digital cameras are connected by a network.
